He's a lot cuter in person but here he is just one chick so far.
ThanksAweSweet little peep!
Did you get to see the parents? I hope you post pics when they're grown so we can see what they look like.
He gave me the parents he had them running all over his barn . They go broody as soon as they lay an egg. I put red jungle fowl eggs under the parents and hatched out the mother's eggs. The red jungle fowl eggs are shipped eggs so I don't want to incubate shipped eggs they're more difficult. View attachment 1929274 mother View attachment 1929277 father!
The temperature is pretty consistent with this specific incubator.Just had two baby Silkies that managed to survive their incubator being knocked down by the cat because I stuffed up and forgot to shut the door. They'll have a home for life if they make it to adulthood rooster or not after what they went through because of me! They were the only two out of twelve that were fertile too so I'm so happy they both hatched. Think the incubator helped. I switched them to a new Brinsea mini eco I got from a Janoel halfway through incubation. I had some trouble with the temperature, it was pretty tricky adjusting it to get it right because it wasn't hitting its factory setting and there were some fluctuations but obviously it didn't hurt them!
Have just put in Brown Leghorn, Faverolles and Maran eggs in my incubators as well as a bunch of quail eggs in another. I'm practicing my incubation skills as I'm a newbie to this.
