I'm not familiar with it eitherHere at 6000 feet above sea level I always run with the vent plugs open. Less oxygen here so babies need all the help they can get (that's what your little red plug is) I am not familiar with a humidikit.

So I should cover up the holes? I'm confused, it doesn't take much
That's so stinking cute!!! I need me some quailsOk, I assisted a little bit and left the chick back in the incubator. It is still chewing and sleeping so I'll give it time. Now these two on the picture hatched today.. It is cute.. I think![]()
I take my red plugs out at Day 10 (Sally Sunshine's recommendation) and keep humidity up by running tubing through the side channel where the turner power cord comes out, down into the water wells. Then I can inject water through the tube when it's needed without opening the incubator.I have never used my incubator without them and when one fell out and I didn't realize it the heat and humidity decreased. Try it both ways and see what happens...my experience may not be the same as yours.
My environment is very dry and I run my a/c.
