@FortCluck what do you use for feeder in the cardboard inclosure?
I just use a regular waterer and I'm going to make a feeder out of something today. I'm going to put the waterer in a cookie pan so it keeps it clean. I'll probably add my wood shavings today just so everything is done.

I had chicks last year and I don't know where their feeder went. It disappeared into thin air I guess :barnie

I've never used the brooder either, it's a new purchase I got with my incubator on Amazon. I'm not sure if I'll like it, only time will tell I guess.

Peeps in the brooder

I was cleaning out the house and found this under the sink (we save them for random things like water for storms and such). I'm going to try it as a feeder for the chicks. I lost my feeders somehow and wanted to get crafty this morning. I have other feeders if this doesn't work.

What's in the white container? Mulch?

I love your setup

Thank you, It's good for the first few days to keep an eye on the newbies before they go outside to the mini coop. The white pan contains dirt from the coop floor. I don't use medicated feed and expose the chicks to their future environment as soon as possible to begin developing natural immunity. Anyone not strong enough to make it is culled early.

For my entire flock I give a poultry vitamin in their water on their first day and once a week after that. No other special measures.
