October Hatching ... How many are in? I'm due to hatch on 10/17

Day 17.... 16 BLW and 5 cochin siler laced and white silkie crosses tomorrow is lockdown. hope for weekend fluffy butts. congrats on everyone's hatch. more later.

I guess it gives me a good excuse to get more BCM eggs in the future to hatch. Not that I actually need any excuse. This BCM I have left is in with two Olive Eggers hatched at the same time. So I will wait awhile and see how these chicks feather out but I definately want to try again before spring.

Set eleven Icelandic eggs yesterday evening, and one serama egg (couldn't resist sticking that one serama egg in there because it was laid yesterday)! Looking forward to seeing how this hatch goes.

I got the Icelandic eggs from The Warden at the Northern California meet-up. It feels so cool to have such a rare breed in my incubator!

went out to the hen house and now I have five! little black babies running around Two more weeks till the incubator chicks are due..

First one to hatch at 1:30 PM. 9 more have a pip in them.

Went out this morning to find one of my sitting broodies out of the pen!?!

She moved a bit and out came 3 littles... one black... one brown... and one brown patterned!

Hooray! Now waiting for my other broody sitting on 13 eggs.

And these eggs shouldn't even be fertile because I lost my Roo a month before they were layed!

Ok, today is day 19-lockdown, But I just heard a peep!

Isn't this too soon? Am I counting wrong? I set the eggs in the afternoon and counted the next day as day 1.
