It is so amazingly sad when one does not make it..so tiny and defenseless and seemingly perfect. But as they say...there must be a reason why God took him...It's ok. Hang in there.

You can fix the curled to problem with some tape. I expand their toes to the position they would be in if they where standing and put a piece of tape on the bottom and make srue the toes are good and stuck and in the right position and then put another piece of tape on the top and make sure it adheres to the bottom tape between the toes and is stuck on the toes good. AFter about 3 days take it off and see if they are right. If not redo the tape and wait another 3 days. Sometimes they get the tape of themselves, just put more back on.

ok i'm going to see if it gets better by tomorrow because its currently just a bit of a curve like ---> )

its not very solid looking and kinda wibbly wobby but they seem to walk alright

if its still like that then i'm going to do the tape thing (should i do both feet if its only one toe?) also (s)he has feathered feet & legs so i'm afraid that taking it off would hurt:[

i cant stop watching the weak chick:( i'm so afraid something will happen if i go to sleep. i guess i'll just stay in the basement all night

Lock down started today!! Sometime soon I am expecting three quail, two dun quail and two black d'Anver bantam of Boggy Bottom Bantams flock!! Started off with a lot more in the bator but not all the quails were fertile, and the rest all seemed fine but it was obvious upon inspection that rough handling on part of the postal service was the culprit (some of the air sacs were connected all the way to the pointed end). Come spring I hope to get my hands on some more of Boggy Bottoms' eggs!! Even convinced some friends of the d'Anver breed
