October Hatching ... How many are in? I'm due to hatch on 10/17

Just put 6 Serama eggs into the 'bator last night. . .couldn't get the "hencubator" to work, so we had to use the electric version. Here's hoping for a great first hatch. Really nice pair and am hoping for really nice chicks in 3 weeks.

Good luck to everyone who has babies on the way.

Like I said in the other post

I just had 7 BCM X Blue marans hatch, 2 silkies and 2 frizzles.
so 14 more marans eggs, 16 more Lav araucanas, and another 6 marans eggs due to hatch this month..... I think out of close to 100 eggs so far I've had quite a few babies hatch, though I sold most of them because of current living conditions, but I'm moving so......... I'm stocking up now!
Thanks,
Ty

I have 13 chicken eggs in the bator, hatch-date being October 18. Four of them are shipped eggs (2 pure silkie, 2 silkie/SLW). Got my fingers crossed for them.

The other 9 are just some of my barnyard mixes.
I also have 81 Coturnix eggs in. Hatch-date also October 18.

Too CUTE!!! I sold my silkies just so that I would stop hatching them...........OMGosh they are addictive! lol.....I only had silkies because my of mother, she thought they were so cute, then one day she asked me to toss some in the 'bator. BIG MISTAKE on my part, I couldn't stop and the silkie population around here was out of control and they were taking over it was like a New World Chicken Order, they have this power of sucking a person in to their cute evil little lore. Mu wahhhhhahahaha!!!!!!! Seriously I did sell them all so that I could focus on other breeds........but now if Silkies came in a huge monsterous size I would be all over them again.

Tons and tons of good hatching vibes going out to everyone!!!!!

My white frizzle - Pricilla laid her first egg today. She is in a pen with a white sizzle cockerel, black splash silkie roo, a polish/silkie mix and what appears to be another cockerel that is a lavender split silkie. I put George outside ith them ike I always do and the sizzle and split went after him. They don't normally bother him when they are free ranging together but they sure did today. The strange thing is only the black splash is crowing and he's only 5 months old. The polish mix, sizzle and frizzle are all the same age which is 7 months now. The silkies are 5 months. I doubt her egg is fertile since it is her first one. I want to put her with the polish mix, so I reckon I need to get them moved.

Started 12 lavender orpingtons and 7 light Sussex and pure coronation for a friend on Oct 1st. Only the lavender ones are mine tho.

In the incubator, set for an October 7 hatch day, are 9 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and then for October 8 there are 5 Beltsville White turkeys. Later in the month, scheduled for an October 23 hatch day (though bantams always seem to hatch earlier) are 7 Quail, 5 Blue Quail, 2 Dun Quail and 2 Black Quail d'Anvers (of Boggy Bottom stock).

I got home last night to find Shirley Welsummer has hatched at least two of her four eggs! Whoot! Whoot! She was REALLY snarky when I put my hand in to count the eggs, and just at that moment I heard the peeping. So I pulled my hand out of her covered kitty litter box nest and peeked: one yeller baby with a smudge on top of its head, and one dark brown, mostly hidden little peeper. Then Shirley shifted to cover 'em, so I didn't try to see if there were any more babies.

Just hustled to get her a dish of chick starter and some fresh water close to her nest.

Given the way the light is disappearing so quickly in the evenings when I get home from work, I may not be able to make a full assessment until this weekend.

But I have new GrandChicks! And Shirley is a momma!

Well, I got 24 cortunix chicks the other day and my production red's egg hatched this morning. Now I have 11 Bob White and 34 Texas A & M's on lock down due the 7th and 8th. Then I have more cortunix going in lock down on the 8th, 9th, and 10th.
We got the shed fixed up today for the quail to winter in there. We stil have to build the silkies an indoor area so they can benefit from the warmth of the indoors. My Frizzle started laying so I put her and the polish/silkie mix roo in a pen together. I'm trying for one of those Cousin IT chickens. lol. Somebody on here has some that are mixed with frizzle, polish and silkie and all you can see is it's beak and toes. The rest is all feathers. So cool looking and I want one. So thats my project. I didn't expect her to lay really till spring.

Shirley HAS hatched all four eggs! Two little yeller chicks with dark smudges on the tops of their heads, and two little brown ones I couldn't see very well in amongst her feathers.

What a GOOD momma!

Now I just have all these eggs in incubators hatching all through the month of October...
