October Hatching ... How many are in? I'm due to hatch on 10/17

11 silkie eggs due to hatch this Sunday the 10th! I said this was my last hatch of the year, but there are cuckoo eggs on auction I'm eyeballing

pic of first round of the first hatch. Went to bed with 6 got up to 9 ready and 3 drying in the bator .....only problem these were sold to me as RIR...sure they are! I bought the eggs at a local auction. The seller had RIR eggs and Black australorps eggs I bought 2 dozen RIR eggs ( I think they may have mixed the cartons up and one was marked RIR when it was Black australorps) Oh well I plan on selling these anyway. The cochins are what I plan to keep a few of. They should hatch out on Saturday.

Looks like you got a 50 -50 there. Still adorable. You may want to mention to the buyer what y ou got. They may have someone sneaking in at night when your not looking.

My Production red gave me 3 different colors this time. She was with a splash silkie them I did the "Switch a Roo" in the middle of the night and put an Ameracauna in the pen. I got with the first 2 a solid black and a brown with chipmunk stripes They both have 5 perfect toes, walnut combs, feathered legs and feet, little beaks, one has black skin the other doesn't and out of the 3rd chick that hatched a week later I got 1 foot with 5 toes and the other with 4, pale skin, yellow down and a comb I can't really tell what it is. It has black skin on it's tummy. So it's a mix of both it appears. And so sweat all 3 of them are. My Production red has the best chicks. No matter who the roo is. She did have a couple that where sweet then turned mean over night. Roos of course. One day we where siting with him in our laps petting the next day he was attacking us. She was with a mean roo though so I think that is what happened. But they are always beautiful chicks and when they grow up they still are. Some people that got eggs form her will have some vey nice birds. Hopefully they are girls and wil have nice babies too.
