Odd behavior

In looking at the first photo you posted, I see you have a small fan. Do you have any open windows or vents that aren't visible in the picture? You are in Washington where you get a lot of rain. Lack of ventilation and high humidity could be an issue.

I do live in Wa. and yes I keep all windows open. More when it's warm les when it's pouring but always opened. It can build up too much moisture otherwise.

Ever since my oldest chicken has died (5yo) the other 3 chickens have been hiding under trees and much more loud and paranoid. Should I be worried and is there anything I can do?

Do you know why she died? Was she top of the pecking order? How long ago?

For your question, I’m pretty sure chickens prefer dark and closed areas to sleep so the windows of the coop may be bothering them, maybe close some windows and exits/entrances off.

My flock fight over who gets to sleep by the window. It's the preferred spot. IMO, a coop needs to be flooded with natural light! Granted, they don't like a draft blowing on them when they sleep. Closing up windows will decrease ventilation, creating an unsafe coop.

The chicken that died died from an infection and they know she died, yes she was on the top of the pecking order. She was the others mother.
