This guy is from my red breasted/darth Vader eggs that I ordered and had shipped. I’m wondering what this color might be considered. I call him Gandalf because he’s kind of a dirty gray. He has red and blue feathers showing up on his chest, and red coming in underneath and on the wings.

He’s far darker than the cinnamons and far lighter than the red breasteds, and has a lot of patterning on the feathers.

Cinimon Darth ? Can't wait to see how it turns 🤔 (cinimon does lighten things a bit and is recessive maybe)

I have a cinnamon darth, in the first pic he is northeast of the circled bird, he’s gray with red coming in under like crazy. This chick started as one of my red breasted looking chicks, yellow and black, the cinnamons started as gray/cream and yellow. I’m so glad you told me to document the darths I can just link the baby pics:

I believe he is number 3, he’s banded pink.

This is one of the cinnamon red breasted (of course he ran thru the water, and jumped at the wall and fell back into the water, when I tried to catch him so he looks a bit gooey):

But my oddball was definitely a dark black/gray and yellow chick.

So it could be he carries cinnamon, but he isn’t full cinnamon, I’ve heard carrying cinnamon can lighten black as you said. However, it’s more like a difference in pattern as well, the redbreasted males all have very monochrome feathers, the blacks are all solid black the whites are all Solid white. This guy has patterned and marked feathers. So is it like wild pattern bleeding thru red breasted, maybe carrying cinnamon to lighten it a bit?
