Odd color on comb

I went out to let the girls in from ranging and one of them had a dark grey blackish comb and wattle. They have normally been light pink and it made me panic.

I noticed because I am waiting for her to come I to lay and to redden. Is there something wrong?

Hmmmm....dark comb can mean lack of oxygen. Is she panting or listless?

However, is it possible she simply got it dirty? If she is acting well, it could be harmless stain.

Comb color could just be completely normal.
Do you have photos of her from previous days and weeks?

She seemed thirsty, but I am integrating chicks intot he coop so I shut the door not thinking the waterer was in there. They were only out about 2 hours and no ore else seemed to have it. I have been running thru post and hope she does not have a heart issue. I picked her up and she seemed normal. I am so worried. Maybe I should of brought her inside. They have been roosting 2 hours so I am not sure if I should go get her. If it is still different I will bring her to dog pen on porch.

Agree comb colors change as pullets mature into hens...however if it was a matter of hours for the change, then I suspect something amiss or simply a dirty head.

This is from last month. I think she is the one on the left but if not the one on the right, had to capture it from video. She is a Smokey Pearl and it was pink last time I noticed it. The hatch mate has been red for weeks, still waiting on eggs.

I looked at it closely, it was the comb and wattle not dirt. I rubbed it to make sure.

To me, it's just a mulberry coloring.

If she's not in distress, then I'd just keep watch on her.

Her color was still off this morning. We are under a heat advisory so I put a bowl of hydro hen out. Will put out pans with extra water around noon.
