Odd Duck behavior?

I have two Female Buffs. Recently, like right now, they have been standing on one leg right in front of the water with their beaks tucked into their wings just sleeping there.

Is this normal for ducks to just stand around on one leg and sleep? I know that's what they occasionally do but right beside the water bowl and not their usual sleeping spot is seeming odd.

They have not eaten today (which is really unusual) but are drinking. One female lays a fresh pretty egg every night but the other one hasn't started yet. Yesterday they were quacking their heads off and today they have not made a single sound. Are they depressed? Anything I can do to cheer them up?

If it’s still pretty cold where you love, this is actually a smart tactic that lots of poultry do. They switch their legs so that when one leg is out, the other is tucked in and keeping warm. My chickens do this often, tucking their heads into their feathery bodies. I simply think that they are trying to keep warm, but I might not be right- never had ducks in my life.

Makes sense. They are inside ducks and its around 60 F. in here. I know, being house ducks is probably not the best for them but its a dangerous world around my area. They have plenty of comfort and within the next month their area will expand to a very large area.

I don't feel too bad because the guy right up the street has like 30 Pekins living in his basement?!?!?!

WHAAT? 30 Pekins living in his basement? That’s absolutely crazy. How big is his house?

its 3 stories and looks pretty abandoned from the outside but he lets them out in the backyard on warmer days and I know I have seen an entire yard full of them. I have no idea what he does with them but they are beautiful ducks

They don't look abused, well taken care of from the looks of it. But overcrowded, yes but I don't know his set up.

One of my females just blew a huge load of dark green diarrhea out onto the wall. they still wont eat

Okay what are you feeding them and is there anything around your yard/home that could be toxic they might have gotten into. Stagnant water, plants, dead animals Wonder if a flush might help but first give us a run down on what they eat daily.
