Odd looking packing peanut

I work in a farm store, and today we got in a shipment of chicks with an odd one - it's smaller than the others, has stubbly light yellow feathers, and what looks like red curly hairs sprinkled around. I can post a picture later, but I wondered if anyone had an idea of what this is - an odd breed, or something genetic?

I think that you should just take it home. That way we can all see what it grows up to be.

I do plan to take it home - I'm a sucker for these guys. I've got 6 at home already who are half-grown, so this guy may stay at work for a while until it gets bigger.

He came in with a bunch of California Whites. One of my co-workers thinks that it may be a California with some screwy genetic thing.

He's a cute thing. Is his beak clipped up top? I couldn't guess at what it is, sorry.

Those little red hairs poking out are crazy! I hope you keep him and let us know how he looks with feathers. I have no idea what kind it could be? But it sure it cute!
