Odd looking packing peanut

He sure did turn out very cute.. an oddball to boot:)

Would be nice if you start breeding him and maybe see if you can make more of those ..what ya think? tailess fluffballs. how neat

He's made quite a friend in Dustbunny.
They hang out together a lot, and Oddball is starting to play back - it's not just Dustbunny chasing him any more.

I'm not sure if the ladies are going to allow any breeding type activities - they usually chase him off. He's already trying to charm the new girls though, so maybe he'll get lucky with them.

One of my 6 Delaware chicks had a bit of fuzz exactly like that right when he hatched-he was so cute! His was mostly concentrated on his shoulders, and at 3 weeks he is now feathered identically to the others, he lost it with his baby fuzz. I was hoping for a frizzly one but it was just baby fuzz, I guess.

Sorry, somehow I only saw the first few posts when I posted. Mine with the fuzz didn't open his eyes the first day, and I took pictures and asked about it. Here is the thread, if you notice in the sideview picture he has similarly frizzy fuzz with a reddish hue.

Now he looks exactly like the others so I'm assuming he'll feather out normally.

As I said, Oddball has been sleeping inside lately because he's started crowing, and at least inside he only disturbs me.

He's had a pretty consistant bedtime of 9pm, he meets me at the gate and I bring him in. The other day at about 10 after 9pm, he came trotting in the kitchen. Guess I was late. I thought it was a fluke, but no - he did it again the next night. I'm not sure if I like it or not...on one hand, it's neat that he knows where to go, but I'm concerned for later in the year when the back door is shut. Our yard is fenced in, but I'm paranoid about neighbor cats and raccoons.

Ok...Oddball has got to go away.

My sweet little head-chicken has turned into a jerky half-pint rooster. Taking runs at me when I'm collecting eggs, that kind of thing. He's got my turken's poor neck all scratched up from trying to hang onto the skin there. He's really not cut out to be a city chicken.

I've got a friend "babysitting" him at her house until I can find him a new home, but she's already got a jerk-face rooster of her own.

So, anyone want an Oddball rooster?
