Every night I let my chickens out of the run about an hour or two before sunset. After about five minutes of running around, they all jump up and sit on my chest. Should I stop letting them out of the run so late?

I would guess that they are ready to roost and you are the mama. Since you are lead hen, they want to roost with you. If you want them to stop, definitely keep them closed in close to dusk. Sure it is cute though!

That’s the cutest thing ever! It’s one thing to have a chicken laying on you but it’s another to have a Silkie laying on you!
