This is my 9 week black australorp, Elphaba. I got her from Meyer hatchery in june. I specifically asked for a female. I noticed her tail feathers were growing in a little curved, and that freaked me out as we're not allowed to have roosters in my city. Her saddle feathers and neck feather look normal but the tail feathers scared me. Is this just an odd feather growth, do I have a possible roo on my hands, or is it too early to tell?

Perfect time to tell, however, we need pictures.

Pretty sure that is a pullet!! 😁

Tail feathers usually don't mean a thing, it's the saddles and hackles you watch for.
I know you know this, but want to clarify that you watch for "male" hackles and saddles. All chickens have saddle feathers, but only males get sharp and skinny hackles and saddles (apart from hormone changes).
