I wonder if you look for the bad, does your brain rewire itself to look for more bad, too?
One evening, a Cherokee elder was teaching his grandson about life.

“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves. This battle that goes on between the two wolves is inside us all.

One wolf is Evil. He is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

He continued, “The other is Good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf will win?”

Wisely, the grandfather simply smiled and replied, “The one you feed.”

My cousin is all gloom and doom. Her church is all about Armageddon, she can't wait to see it. I listened in the service during COVID for a year and it was very depressing and yes the world looked horrible. When I quit listening to it and started listening to upbeat services, my Outlook on life totally turned around in a few months.

Yes. Your brain creates pathways or like roads between the neurons and the ones you use the most get really worn and the other ones get pruned. But you can change that and start using different pathways and those ones will grow. I just watched a video on neuroplasticity in the hospital.

Not to derail but I believe this is the video we watched. It mentions that exact thing about negative or positive pathways being reinforced. It’s a little long but it mentions that part towards the beginning.

"By beholding we become changed."

2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
