I have read through some other posts about odd shaped eggs but have not seen any that look like this. I have an 8 month old Orpington that I got about a week ago. In the past 4-5 days she has been laying eggs with this odd bulge around the middle. Her eggs always looked different from my other Buff Orpington as well, which I wasn’t expecting to be the case. What could be causing this ring around her eggs, and is it normal for two hens of the same breed to lay such different eggs?
