I have 6 pullets in a large coop and large run....I've noticed an odor that can get a little strong at times...I clean my coop every other day and once a week it gets a complete wash down with dawn dish soap and water.....I was wondering if there is anything else I can do or if i'm doing something wrong

I use a product called "Sweet PDZ" and love it! It is a horse stall refresher and safe for you and the birds. It comes either powder or granules. I prefer powder. It absorbs the ammonia smell and absorbs moisture. http://www.meyerhatchery.com/produc...upplies&grd_prodone_filter=PRODUCT_ID = 'SPDZ'

"Stall-Dry" is another one some folks use. Here is another link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/478491/sweet-pdz-versus-drystall-for-odor. I have not used this one, but it works well from what I've read.

Definitely use sweet PDZ. I use it in my 4x8x6 run/coop structure. No odor. It's in the poop board as well. All I do is scoop every week in the run and every other day in the poop board through the access door. I inspect things all the time to make sure it's all ok. But I don't have to work hard at it. It's great.
