OEGB/ko shamo cross

Quote:
He/she is really cute, is the person you got it from sure the dad was a shamo? I've liked at some of the ones on youtube and I really want some, large and small, they look like little velociraptors

Yes plus I saw his roosters myself. They were gorgeous Shamo roosters he had a few but I only saw one out free ranging. The rooster was really pretty though, if my bird turns out being a rooster I wouldn't mind if it had some of the color traits. Plus I'm pretty sure that shamo was the dominant rooster, he looked quite powerful and sure of himself, strutting around. I actually never saw a shamo before I saw my friends birds XD very interesting to see… they're very unique.

Bird update!! She's now 5 Days/4 Days old, wing feathers growing.

Providing the coloration was taken from the dad, you have a little stag(rooster}. Pullets of the BBR Shamos are very light colored, even yellow. The orientals of any variety lay smallish eggs, so they all start out as small chicks and they remain human friendly, even as adults. Julia Keeling (The Shamo Lady) says they are "Big Puddings" until they are around 8 months or so old, at which time they "turn on", making it difficult to keep them with other fowl, especially roosters. They will definately dominate your yard. Shamos don`t fully mature until they are a year old. How much influence the hen will have in his makeup is a mystery at this point. Should be interresting to watch. Have fun.......Pop
