OEGB Question

Thank you! I'll try to get some photos when I get home and post in the OEGB thread.

Ok, so maybe that's not a good gage.

The one on the right in the last pic, with the very dark V on the head -- those are "usually" female signs, as well as eyeliner stripes, but you have some different color varieties, so I'm not sure about them all. Might be helpful to post on one of the OEGB threads. I remember someone doing some helpful chick color pics.

Here are pics of my 4 week olds, one male, one female. They are silver duckwing, so the males get black breast feather, females get salmon. I guess there isn’t much obvious difference otherwise.

Oh my gosh! So excited. This one is an OEGB x Bantam Ameraucana cross. I really thought it was the bantam chick that didn't make it. Guess that was one of the OEGBs.
AWWWW!!! :love I've always wanted to know what that cross would look like. Tried to hatch a Wheaten AM bantam X OEGB from my own flock, but it died on day 20. Please keep us updated as your little one grows....pretty please? ;):love
Here are the other 3, surprisingly they were very well behaved. I don't think they're standard colors.
I would agree they appear to be mixes of colors, but no less gorgeous for it. :love

The only accurate way to sex chicks is by the comb, and male feathering.

Not really. There are many breeds where male and female coloring are more apparent far before the appearance of male specific feathering. BBR varieties, Salmon faverolles, Sicilian buttercups, and the list goes on.
