eepy thing =w=
Dred stood and inched closer to Eclipse, ready to take on the odd Rain/leaf hybrid or it’s owner. They did seem sketchy, but what they talked of made Dred hope they were truthful.
Helios was silent for a second, the question made him think hard. He looked around and sighed, his face scrunching up at a weird metallic taste in his mouth. Even the air here tastes of human garbage.
Helios didn’t know how, but he knew he’d had some sort of plan before blacking out. But now it was escaping him. He went through the battle in his head again. The attack, the nightwings, DeathSeeker being killed by his own leader….the leader…
The keys!
He went still, praying that it was still there and unmelted. He worked a lump of metal out of under his tongue, feeling the outline of the ring of keys and suddenly being filled with a small amount of hope. “Yes!” He almost shouted, but stopped himself. “I stole these…” he told the Seawing, sticking out his tongue (which looked rather undignified as a king) and showing him the keys before hiding them again. The humans had given him a drug to dampen his flames. Little did they know that they had just given him the thing he needed to escape.
And they. Would be. Sorry.
Sunspot shifted, watching the exchange curiously. Keys! She lifted her head, tail twitching hopefully.Crest watched confused as the king went silent and seemed to be moving his tongue around in his mouth. "Yes! I stole these..." he said. Crest was surprised to see the large solarwing king stick out his tongue, but he was even more surprised to see the keys sitting on his tongue. Wait, how are they not melted. Crest thought. Suddenly realization dawned on him. They must've drugged him. Hope began to swell in Crest as he thought what this meant. We could actually get out of this place. Then I can return home where humans live much better than this. He grinned at the king. "You know, this gives us a very large advantage against these people." He lowered his voice and leaned closer to the king's cage, "We could potentially escape." He thought for a second and rephrased his sentence, "No, we will escape." Determination in his aqua eyes, he looked into the king's eyes with reassurance. With hope reignited, he was ready to get out and find the human girl and get back to the ocean.
Thinking about the humans in the Scorpion Den, his curiosity was peaked about the rest of the humans in this world. Apparently the humans in his kingdom were very different from this group of humans. "So, Your Majesty, are all the humans on the rest of this continent like this?"
