"-and we all were very sad. We thought that maybe he was dying, and Sparrow said that Roe had to go check on you, and then she did, so when she came back here, she said that he wasn't going to die, or stuff, and when-"
"Qi'ra, slow down." Jyn corrected gently.
Tobias' brows were still raised as he laughed quietly, giving Jyn a reassuring look.
Tobias glanced back at the door, his smile fading when he noticed Nicholas. Perhaps he had a warped view on the man, but it was hard to like someone when they had broken into his lot and eaten his property. Tobias looked back to Qi'ra with a quiet groan.
"Hi" Nic said akwardly. He was used to people looking at him with less than excited face. He wasn't the best guy to be around. But Tobias had something in him that made Nic really want to be friends. That was probably never going to happen after Nic broke into Tobias' lot. Keep your mouth shut Nic. Don't say or do ANYTHING. Someday he would have to apoligize to Tobias.
Nic stood there akwardly. He sat down against a wall and looked at Tobias. "Listen, Tobias. I'm the stupidest person I know and I'm horrible around any living creature. I'm sorry that I broke into your lot, offended you and your dragon, and was horrid in general. You'll probably never forgive me but whatever."
Where is Eclipse? Nic needs to say sorry to her.
Okay, sorry. Not up to figuring it out!
Nic sighed and gave Tobias a little grin. He looked at Tobias' dragon. "And I'm sorry for what I said to you. You had the right to bite me on the spot for what I said."
Eclipse chuckled lightly at the Rainwings rambling and the gentle reminder from the older one. She hadn't interacted with the tribe much during her traveling, and she was beginning to enjoy their naturally light-hearted demeanor. Tobias laughed as well, and for a moment, despite the gathering humans and dragons in the lot, she was beginning to relax a little.
Until she noticed that Tobias was suddenly distracted, and he glanced back at the Rainwings with a small groan. Eclipse followed his gaze to the door and felt the spines on her back lift defensively. The annoying human from before had returned and resolved to pace first directly toward her and Tobias. Eclipse's tail thrashed once and she turned her head pointedly away, twitching an ear dismissively.
He's got some nerve to-
Her thought broke away in surprise when he immediately apologized to Tobias.
I don't get this guy...
She watched the two of them converse from the corner of her eye for a moment, secretly hoping that Nic didn't try to talk to her. Which, of course, he did.
At first, Eclipse wasn't sure how to respond, only sat there looking anywhere but at the human. She could feel his awkwardness, and honestly, hated to admit she felt the same.
"I did actually almost bite you," she said after a moment, shifting slightly onto her side. "Honestly, you are lucky Bloonmoon was there, or I probably would have pounced on you." Eclipse finally leveled her gaze on Nic, a tiny smirk curling on the edge of her face.
"Y'all are just gonna have to get used to me though. I am not changing my attitude for anything. My advice: You just gotta let it roll off your back."
