I just had to post that I am soooo excited to be picking up our new puppy at San Francisco Int'l Airport this afternoon!! Leaving after all chores are done with DH & the roomie so that I don't go nuts in Bay Area traffic. We're gonna leave early and make a day of it

He's a 4 month old, longhair, chocolate and tan miniature Dachshund!! Taking the baby book and playing the name game on the way down...FUN!!!!! Off to run the other dogs and hunt for duck eggs in the yard

Thanks, Everyone!! It was a very long day for us and much longer for the new baby, but it all went well. He left his home @ 2:30AM (our time) and we didn't make it back home till 10PM. I would have thought that he would have been stressed and at least a little anxious, but he came in HAPPY and wiggly and really just wanted to PLAY!!!!! Too cute, especially since we have quite a herd of miniature Dachshunds and they can be typically hound-dog nosy and I was concerned that they would frighten the new little guy. Not at all!!! He must have just recharged that whole time in his crate

<---we need a doggie smilie like that.... He got along great with my boys, wasn't worried about our big dogs at all, and had a BLAST playing with the 2 pups we still have out of a previous litter who are a month or so younger. The pups ganged up on him and he just thought it was fun, even though they were a little bossy (and kept taking his toys away! RUDE!!).

Still working on a name for him as we get to know him. Housebreaking is going good, but typically time consuming. He met our girl Doxies and loves all of them as well!! Now, if I could just get my little black and tan girl to quit dragging him by his ears, that would be nice

I will make time to get pics today and put them up!!!

Btw, Barnyard, how could you LIVE without a Dachshund?!?!? LOL!! I feel that I MUST warn you, they are just like potato chips...you can NOT have just one!!! They are as addictive as BYC

Ain't that the truth. I currently have 3 and I'm sure I would have more if DH didn't stop me. There have only been a few years out of my 46 on this earth that I haven't had a Dachshund and those were just miserable years. Congrats on your new pup! Where are the pics?

Here's my Harvey. Got him last April and he's going to be 3 years old soon. Never had one before and now we wonder what we did for entertainment all those years without him! Congrats on your new little one.
