Just checking in... anything yet? I locked down on Thursday and didn't get anything till Sat night so its still early... and outside of some rocking (which may have been due to faulty table legs lol) They gave no signs of hatching. Didn't even hear peeping until a couple hours after the first pip. Best of luck and keep us posted.

When I first started the lockdown (7 am Friday morning), I thought I heard tapping. JOY! I ran and woke my husband up. Turns out is was just water dripping at a steady pace out of the bottom of my incubator.

Note to self: Do not overfill the reservoirs.

Start of day 20: still nothing...

Nothing happening here either. My temp and humidity are holding perfectly. (this has been a huge stress for me the whole time)

I need to create a timeline. It took at least 12-24 hours for each of mine from pip to hatch. The one that I am waiting on pipped this morning around 10? He's made a small hole but still hasn't really zipped. I think he is scared of the spawns of satan that hatched earlier. They are a lively bunch. Not fully fluffed so I can't remove them yet but I really think they are making too much racket for him to concentrate on the job at hand. I found maglite and tapping coaxed them out great. If they don't settle down soon I may pull them and stick them in the brooder. I had one go to sleep on top of the egg. Tried to get a pic but he moved. The waiting is the worst part.

We just went into lockdown this afternoon and I'm fighting humidity issues. I also have a poor cat who somehow got his femur shattered yesterday and is on a lot of pain meds. So I'm bouncing between the 'bator, the cat, and the 5 week-old Welsummers in the brooder. I honestly will be rather glad to go to work tomorrow. Maybe that will stop me from the obsessive-compulsive behaviors. Ot, alternately, I'll just have a mental breakdown and start taking the cat's narcotics...

I'm so envious. Still nothing on this end.

I wish I had cat narcotics around here somewhere

Will have to settle for wine with dinner.

I'm enjoying this post though. It continues to give me hope.

What the HECK? I WOKE UP TO A CHICK! (Yeah, I know I'm yelling---WHOOP WHOOP! WHOOP!) I can hardly believe it! My first hatch ever...my first chick...my first Cubalaya!

No pipping, no zipping observed, just turned on the light in the room to check on them this morning and scared the little darling!

Oh my gosh you guys. AMAZING! Worth the stress. Definitely worth it!
