Children 7 and under are not allowed home alone.

8 and up have different rules... Lars is 7, Danno is 6.

I keep thinking they are 7 and 9 for some reason.

Still, I can't imagine----I am conflicted here. I would never allow my kids home alone at 7. Maybe 9 or 10.

But sis and I were FINE most of the time, so long as we had neighbors we could go to in an emergency. Except for that time we set the carpet on fire, or the summer we spent stealing aluminum cans out of other people's back yards. Or that whole circus incident--but we healed up nicely.

Maybe girls really ARE different than boys?

I think that Lars would be ok home for an hour alone. He'd have a phone and knows my number by heart. the neighbors are always home, on both sides of us. I wouldnt let him watch daniel tho, that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

Sparkles I use to worry about things like that too. I live in a very small town, no stoplights, same sheriff for the last 30plus years. I had to move away to get to the point that I really didnt care what they said. I moved back 6 years ago thinking it had changed........WRONG......At the present time I am clawing my way out but the difference now is that I dont care what they say in fact I tell them if their gonna gossip about me please make it really juicy. I want out because I have come to realize that I hate people in general and I need acreage to stay away from the majority of the human race. Arent ya'll glad I like you!! LOL

They are WAAAAY to close in age for that. If they were 3-5 yrs apart: no big whoop.

Ender and Ronin are too close in age for that. In 2 years, I can MAYBE run to the store for milk and leave Ender in charge, if Grandma was home. (She wouldn't be interacting with them, all holed up in her room and stuff)

But at least she'd be there in case the house was burning.... oh wait, they would have to help HER out...

Lars does really well when I hand him my trust like that and he's on his own. During hunting I leave him a note and let him sleep as late as he wants. I am still on our property but 1/4 mi away. DH is about 1000 ft away. He knows where to find us if he needs us. He usually gets himself a bowl of cereal, writes me a note back about his morning, and plays legos till I come in around 8:30am. I can see him doing really well for an hour in the afternoons.

Danno is a sweetheart, oh my gosh that kid sparkles and shines all things luvy and huggy, but he's a PITA and wont stop talking till his brother freaks out on him.

Ender's my talker. I taught him how to make toast last week. Ypu'd think he had invented the wheel with how excited he was. But he is fine by himself in the mornings, most days.

I wont even give you the horror stories about my loving brother and I staying home after school. The neighbors called my mom at work a lot! Ecspecially when I hung my brother out the second story window and threatened to drop him, or the time my brother threw his baseball bat at me and it went through the sliding glass doors and hit my fathers 68 mustang....Ahhhhhh the memories.....The point is we lived (though it could explain a few things about my attitude).
