That is actually one of the goals of Head Start, they work with the parents to teach them how to teach their child. This is not a head start room but is modeled after one. Every other Friday they have PACT (Parent and Child Time) where they might model how to read a book to your child and point out the title or let them retell in their own words. The parents are coming to pick up their child anyway, so they are a captive audience and MAYBE you can reach some of them.
I could never help at a head start type facility. I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut when a child's wellfare is involved, and tend to have high expectations of parents and extremely minimal tolleration for morons and incompetent parents. How hard is it to care enough to read a few parenting books?
