I am over-capacity too---well not really. Mostly over capacity. I HAVE plenty of space, but I have pooped in the eye of the "Limit 20 birds for 10,000 sq ft" rule.
But officer, we are WAY closer to 20K sq ft, and the neighbor said I can have his WHOLE YARD.
With the loss of the turkeys, and the processing of the meaties, and the sale of those pullets last month, I am actually doing pretty well.
Until you look in the brooder. I don't know how many I hatched over the Easter hatch. Lets think...
+12 silkies and MFNNs
- 1 showgirl
+ 1 Mottled houdan
+ 5 Duckles
+ 4 SS
- 1 Crustache (died yesterday)
+ 6 SS (apparently ordered from the feed store back in October)
+ 6 Aloha chicks
= 32 ?!
That CANNOT be right.
There is NO WAY there are 32 chicks in that brooder.
...
Plus the 26 eggs I set from the Warden on Monday, the 12ish tukey eggs from my hens due on the 27th, and 4 dozen eggs I am hatching for Sommer.
