OK: So I am only a partial hypocrite. I am the oldest sibling, and I named my boys Ender and Ronin. Both are named after characters in books, and have perfectly normal, passible middle names--in case they need to use another name professionally.

But, apparently my sisters seem to think I set the bar high, and are trying to one-up me.

I mean: phonetic gansta spelling of KENNEDY, and then some ridiculous hippie name, spelled stupid, with TWO capital letters, and is a hominym to a deadly gas.

I do not get the need to give kids 100% stupid names, nor the need to make a new spelling. Granted, Annika may not be the most normal of names, but she's named for her great-grandmother who had passed away while I was pregnant with her. Thus, her name.

Annika is a traditional name.

Raeanne is a traditional name

RaeDawn makes me think of the move Red Dawn.

Yeah, Annika is fairly traditional, but a lot of people go "Oh, how CUTE! How did you create her name?" Ermm, try looking in any baby name book. I like your boys names, seem to fit them from the pictures, plus heck, if you gave them "normal" middle names, they are good to go if they want to go by another name.

RaeDawn is a toxic gas. That's all I'm ever going to think right now.

We install radon mitigation systems, since MN has a lot of radon gas. Watch me type it RaeDawn mitigation system the next time...

My boys have very unusual names. Foxx and Gryphin. But they do have traditional middle names.

I have a traditional name to - Mich the Bi$#%
