Good morning working world! Was just thinking this morning that I really wished we had summer vacation from work just like kids do from school! Anyone else needing a break??

I jsut spent forever staring at my flock. I need to reduce about 30 chicks. Basically, everything I hatched this year

(we'll ignore the eggs in progress for now.)

Anywhoo, I can let go of 7 or 8 of my layers, except they are GOOD layers, and help pay for the feed. I am telling myself once it gets hot, they'll all stop laying anyway, and it is better to let them go now rather than later.

Too bad you all are so far. I would just GIVE you all some of these chicks. Seriously. But now I have to deal with freaky AZ people coming to my house. DOH!

I'm so unmotivated, but I really need to get some cleaning done. My father-in-law is going to be visiting in a few days and I need to get the house company ready. I'm not really looking forward to his visit, but trying to think positive. He's a nice enough guy, I've always gotten along fine with him, but he doesn't show a lot of interest in his own grown kids and even less interest in his grandkids. I just hope he doesn't do or say anything that hurts my kids' feelings.

Monday is FIL b-day, so we're having a small party here at the house and Bill is going to grill some steak and potatos, which is my very favorite meal in the whole world (even more fantastic than the best local restaurants), so looking forward to that! Tuesday Bill's taking his dad fishing. Wed FIL's going home.

I have never had a real migraine before, if this is part of earning my big girl pants I want nothing to do with it.
