Now to complain about my day...... I woke up at 9 am (thank you God) to a voice mail from my mother stating that my son was on his way to the ER due to an allergic reaction. Via ambulance. Of course she ended her message with "I will call again but I know you won't answer"
The phone was in the living room!!!!
Apparently, he put on a wig, goofing off, and suddenly had a VERY bad reaction to something in the wig and 80% of his body was covered in hives and his hands and feet swelled up so bad he couldn't move his digits and his face swelled so bad he couldn't see. Ok, is there some reason no one came and knocked my door down???? Really, folks, I am his MOTHER!!!!
This all happened at 3:00 am. I am seriously ON THE WAY to the hospital.
It all turned out ok, however, it took 4 injections of benedryl before the swelling even started to go down. He is now supposed to carry an epi pen with him.
Talk about a rude awakening. I did talk to him and his arms and legs hurt really bad, but the swelling is gone and the hives are gone. Poor kid. Who doesn't come get a kids mother????
I should have been there. To at least take pics to compare to Martin Short later.... Geez.
