Holy cats, I just realized that I don't have to pick up kids. I can go to the store after work. Wow. Granted I do have to run home to haul beans for DH, but still, I actually have time to get milk!

crap on a stick! I did fall asleep last night at a more decent hour than I have lately... 12:30 and I got up at 6:30... but didn't feel rested.
At about? 10 ish this morning a cat came to visit me on the couch so I thought...ok, a little cat nap...you know for an hour or two... 4 and a half hours later the phone rings... the cat is still there...I'm still there... I'm still tired... I'm amazed it's 2:30... crap!

HA HA HA!!!

The girls just got off the bus and my youngest wore pink tights today and a skirt...she picked her outfit out on her own today....and she had a huge hole in her tights... I mean like her whole left knee is sticking out and it's hanging on by a thread in the back of her leg. I asked her what happened and she said she'd tell me later and I told her, no, you'll tell me now.

So the story goes: "My tights got stuck on the monkey bars and someone had to go get help but I fell before they got there. And then I had to go to the nurse because I fell from the monkey bars."

I checked her bag...there's no notes about this so I assume they only send notes home when and if she were to come home with visible bruising and bloody band aids like she did last year in preschool.

I recall I was knocked unconsious in grade school when I fell from bars that were situated over concrete...remember those days?

And then I had to go get stitches in my head and my mom got me a candy from the store and one of my sisters was SOOO upset she didn't get a candy and thought I did crap like this on purpose. I may have sucked my wax candy bottles of sugary liqued a little more obnoxiously then usual. Yep, I may have but you can't prove it.

He gets nothing til he's old enough not to break off whatever expensive veneer(sp?) we get on it. AKA 30 years old

ETA: this decision was based upon the dentist telling us that the break did not expose any nerves or stuff so its ok to wait till he's older to cap it.

Ava had a small chip on one of her front teefers and the dentist said wasn't exposing a nerve...it bothered me more than it did her...she was 2 and far too wiggly to grind it down and smooth it out...it's a baby tooth, it will fall out eventually...maybe could grind it down when she was older for picture purposes....

I told this to the dreaded evil thing that calls himself a man and is a joke about being a "father," but I digress...and it was a non-issue. I took her to the dentist a half a mile away the instant it happened by the way. So when that DCFS case worker came to my house earlier this summer when the dreaded evil thing was trying to pull all stops to keep the girls forever...that was one of the claims was dental negligence. Which of course came back as "unfounded" and wasn't made into a case at all...but it just burns me that he'd go there. He did take the girls to the dentist and had Ava's tooth smoothed straight with the other one...so what? Good for him. He's got the army dentist so why not help his kids out? But to try to say there was negligence...he's just grasping for straws.

Then there was Zoe's impacted teeth last year. Remember that? Her jaw is so tiny her 6 year old molars had a hard time fitting in? So I had to call around and NO one around here could see her for 30 days out. I said no way, she's in pain now. I need to see someone now. The dentist said it wasn't a cavity but told me what it was and that I had to see an orthodontist. I called all his references and no one could help. So I found this guy in a town about 30 miles away who had another office an hour away and said if I could bring her to THAT office he could see her the next day. So that's what I did. Then he had to send me to an oral surgeon who wasn't there the day I was there...so I had to come back another day for that consult. Then I had to go back ANOTHER day to have the minor in office "surgery" done to help her tooth come in. Then the orthodontist said, he'd see her at a later date to check on her but mostly we couldn't do anything with her crooked teeth cuz of the small jaw and crowding until ALL of her baby teeth were out and she has something like 8 more to go and so that would be more like when she was 14---she just turned 10. Until then, it's just a waiting game.

So where's this dental negligence? The case worker saw through the bs. Looked at my kids teeth and told the girls...you're teeth look fine to me. This is what my oldest dd told me after she left that day. The thing is after EACH and EVERY dental visit we had last year, I told my X about what happened that day and what would happen in the future and he knew she was missing school because of the pain and us having to travel an hour to see the ortho and the oral surgean. He's evil...pure evil.

ok, that's my dental story...you may continue with your beans and pears knowing that I, Maple, am a mom of two children and intend on bearing my mama bear instincts when it comes to any threats from crazy rat bat shnit turds named dreaded evil thing.
