Ava had a small chip on one of her front teefers and the dentist said wasn't exposing a nerve...it bothered me more than it did her...she was 2 and far too wiggly to grind it down and smooth it out...it's a baby tooth, it will fall out eventually...maybe could grind it down when she was older for picture purposes....
I told this to the dreaded evil thing that calls himself a man and is a joke about being a "father," but I digress...and it was a non-issue. I took her to the dentist a half a mile away the instant it happened by the way. So when that DCFS case worker came to my house earlier this summer when the dreaded evil thing was trying to pull all stops to keep the girls forever...that was one of the claims was dental negligence. Which of course came back as "unfounded" and wasn't made into a case at all...but it just burns me that he'd go there. He did take the girls to the dentist and had Ava's tooth smoothed straight with the other one...so what? Good for him. He's got the army dentist so why not help his kids out? But to try to say there was negligence...he's just grasping for straws.
Then there was Zoe's impacted teeth last year. Remember that? Her jaw is so tiny her 6 year old molars had a hard time fitting in? So I had to call around and NO one around here could see her for 30 days out. I said no way, she's in pain now. I need to see someone now. The dentist said it wasn't a cavity but told me what it was and that I had to see an orthodontist. I called all his references and no one could help. So I found this guy in a town about 30 miles away who had another office an hour away and said if I could bring her to THAT office he could see her the next day. So that's what I did. Then he had to send me to an oral surgeon who wasn't there the day I was there...so I had to come back another day for that consult. Then I had to go back ANOTHER day to have the minor in office "surgery" done to help her tooth come in. Then the orthodontist said, he'd see her at a later date to check on her but mostly we couldn't do anything with her crooked teeth cuz of the small jaw and crowding until ALL of her baby teeth were out and she has something like 8 more to go and so that would be more like when she was 14---she just turned 10. Until then, it's just a waiting game.
So where's this dental negligence? The case worker saw through the bs. Looked at my kids teeth and told the girls...you're teeth look fine to me. This is what my oldest dd told me after she left that day. The thing is after EACH and EVERY dental visit we had last year, I told my X about what happened that day and what would happen in the future and he knew she was missing school because of the pain and us having to travel an hour to see the ortho and the oral surgean. He's evil...pure evil.
ok, that's my dental story...you may continue with your beans and pears knowing that I, Maple, am a mom of two children and intend on bearing my mama bear instincts when it comes to any threats from crazy rat bat shnit turds named dreaded evil thing.
