Are you getting excited about moshpit time?

The weather is looking good so far for this weekend. I will probably try to go no matter what, to be honest. I can't keep shuffling the dates around, so I am going to make the attempt. Looks like weather in the 40's for Friday thru Sunday, at least during the day. That makes it easy to water the animals, at least.

Had a busy busy weekend doing projects around the house that needed done.

Cleaned the coop down to the floorboards Saturday. Got everything shoveled out and all the roosts and shelves scraped down.

And then refilled with 3 brand new full bales of nice fluffy shavings.

I also finally fixed the front of the coop that was so ghetto redneck before.

Also, turns out that the blue lid that was on the front is the perfect size to replace the broken lid on my extra feed bin up in the carport. YES.

Also made a new safely fenced compost area, using my "temporary" fence panels that I made last summer, along with a base of pressure treated 2x4's. 8x8 sized and secure enough to keep the dogs out.

I also got some stuff cleaned up around the garage......used the mower/trailer to haul some bags of brooder mess up the hill to out front.....moved the trailer and my breeder tractor around. Got some scarecrows in the bantam cochin pen so they can come out even though its not covered. They are enjoying the nice weather!

Overall busy weekend for me. And now I'm back in hell, I mean at work.

Good job on the clean-up, Beaner. Your reward was a 'new' feed box lid LOL. I love it when stuff like that happens. It's the best reason to be a 'hoarder'. It served as a retaining wall until you needed that lid elsewhere.

I am trying to get psyched up for the mosh pit. If there wasn't a scheduled activity every day this week I'd be a tad more excited. I'm going to collapse this weekend!
DD is getting nervous about dancing with mom in the mosh pit, and has escalated her efforts to get someone to go with her. She has 24 hours...

She also wants to have a friend over this weekend

Actually, I don't mind having the friend over, as long as they either don't trash the place or clean up after themselves...
Or expect me to keep them entertained (like going to a movie or any other car-related activity).


Do you know, I was actually praying for some snow to fall, so that at least one nights activity could be postponed? I'm a weinie...

First of all...Buffy....25*?

That's outside recess weather here. Which they did NOT have recess on friday when it was -20* below...most schools cancelled but ours did not. Waiting for the bus in that weather is cruel...the school super-intendant? I think is the one who decides if there is school or not....should be made to wait out in country at the last stop because the kid at the last stop (my kid) does not know that the bus is running late because of bad roads and longer waits because kids are not waiting at the end of thier long country drives...they are waiting up at the warm house....so the bus has been known to be over 20 min. late. Take that Mr. Superintendent.


oh batz....if you lived closer...i'd sign over my '90 blazer to you for free. It's got a leak in the manifold, needs new breaks, and at least a repair patch to 1 tire? It hasn't been run for 2 years but she always started before no matter what the weather...so some TLC and at least you'd have a vehicle. Guess that's not all of that much a sweet deal but it's all I've got.

I like your chicken make over bean....now I think you need to paint it the same color as your house....then add a couple of daisy's on the new base board you put up to make it look "homey."

You are just going to snore all weekend aren't you? We're supposed to go to IKEA up in Ohio this weekend. Whoo hoo.....I can see more organizing stuff in my future, yay.

My two biggest FAILs currently are my giant pile of a years' worth of mail that needs to be sorted, and a million days worth of eggs on the counter waiting to be used or washed. I am hopefull to handle one or other tonight. I'm thinking the egg washing would be the easier choice. I am getting SO FEW eggs right now (4 a day. Out of about 3 dozen hens), that it would be easy to keep up with, once I got it under control.

Same with my mail. I know all my bills are paid, so Its just a matter of getting everything filed, shredded or tossed. Must. Do. It.

In other more healthy news, I have finally made up a shopping list for the week....and got everything needed to have breakfast every day, lunch and even a dinner plan. I have 4 microwave meals for Monday to Thursday and plan on cooking dinner Tonight..eating leftovers tomorrow night, and then making a simple skillet meal for both Wednesday and Thursday night. Must save money and eat healthier. We'll see whether I actually stick to the plan......I had a weight watcher breakfast quesadilla this morning and it was delicious. I am going to have a beef/something or other meal for lunch and I'm making a baked pasta dish for dinner.
