What have you all been up to since I've been busy puttin my life in a storage shed?


YEEEE HAW! I hope I ain't packin anything I need. I lost my blender but then I found it. whew, that was a close call.

cleaning. And moving chickens around. Went out to take pics of my favorite bird and his eye is swollen shut and he's wheezing. I think the eye thing is from fighting - he's in the boy pen. And he's been kind of whistle-y but now it's louder so time to put him on some meds.

orchy....what roo to hen ratio? I got 9 hens to 1 roo and I can see a couple of them are ruffled in thier feathers but I've yet to decide if that's a molt or from the roo...or maybe cuz that crazy duck keeps chasin a couple of them around... I have a bcm roo and all I know is he thinks he's a stud....he thinks so highly of himself sometimes, I need to punt him like a football to put him in place. Gosh, can't a woman go in carrying a bag of feed without getting rooster whipped?

Ok, here is an updated picture of my black rooster.
At first I thought he looked liked batz's rooster, but maybe not.

Oh yea, and when I went out to take that picture, the wind blew the gate shut and I was stuck in the chicken pen.

I have a rope to block it open, but didn't use it, cuz I didn't realize it was going to be so hard to snap a picture of Blackie.

But, I got lucky, cuz there is another gate that leads into the pony corral from the chicken pen, and I can reach the lock on that side from inside!
Good thing, cuz no one else is here!
