70 pages in 3 days?
Really ladies. REALLY?
I am SO not trying to catch up.
This week has been pretty busy---I had the kids home Tues-Thurs, and just dropped them off at Daycare today. I needed a break and they needed some socialization.
Recap of this week:
Ender's (5) birthday is after xmas, so he doesn't start school until this next school year. He came home from daycare on Monday with a note that said, "Ender is really, really good at math. It is becoming a problem when we are doing math in preschool. He is disruptive because he finishes early and tries to help the other kids."
...OK. Crap.
Both my husband and I were smart like that: The DH was asked to graduate high school at 15 for similar reasons: his grades were too good, and the school couldnt expel him. so the DH graduated at 15, and went right into college. (Have I ever mentioned that the DH is younger than me, and I am a cradle robber?)
FOCUS LAREE!!!
ANYWAY---
-So I went to Border's Books, which is going out of business.
-I bought out all their home-schooling workbooks for Pre-school to 2nd grade.
-I started teaching Ender to read, and tested out his math skills.
-I knew he could add and subract, but came to the unfortunate realization HE CAN DO MULTIPLICATION!!
MULTIPLICATION
He doesn't even use his fingers. I took the boys for a walk, and ender was on his scooter. I asked, "If I gaveyou 2 oranges 4 times, how many do you have?"
Without any hesitation, he said, "8. duh."
Crap.
Double crap.
I am not ready for him to be smarter than I am.
Other than that, I have been doing lots and lots of cleaning, no job searching, and some garden work.
OH! That reminds me: the company I just left called and asked AGAIN if I would come work for them, and screw my employer out of their finder's fee. I said no--but I am going in there Monday and Friday of next week to "help out"
