11 and 6. Well, 11.5 and 6.5 by the time summer rolls around. They aren't interested in 4H so no fair stuff for us. They're not quite old enough to stay home all day every day by themselves, and really too old to go to daycare, they get bored out of their minds. Grandparents may save the day, but haven't committed yet. I'm going bananas.

DH is the one who is insisting we get a new DW posthaste. I could wait. I told him the hole would be a great place for a dog bed. He didn't think so.

Yeah, we don't have an automatic DW. The old one broke and flooded the kitchen. As such, I refused to replace it because it was enough of a PITA and $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to fix the mess then. So I have slave labor, I mean children, to wash dishes for me.

70 pages in 3 days?

Really ladies. REALLY?

I am SO not trying to catch up.

This week has been pretty busy---I had the kids home Tues-Thurs, and just dropped them off at Daycare today. I needed a break and they needed some socialization.

Recap of this week:

Ender's (5) birthday is after xmas, so he doesn't start school until this next school year. He came home from daycare on Monday with a note that said, "Ender is really, really good at math. It is becoming a problem when we are doing math in preschool. He is disruptive because he finishes early and tries to help the other kids."

...OK. Crap.

Both my husband and I were smart like that: The DH was asked to graduate high school at 15 for similar reasons: his grades were too good, and the school couldnt expel him. so the DH graduated at 15, and went right into college. (Have I ever mentioned that the DH is younger than me, and I am a cradle robber?)

FOCUS LAREE!!!

ANYWAY---
-So I went to Border's Books, which is going out of business.
-I bought out all their home-schooling workbooks for Pre-school to 2nd grade.
-I started teaching Ender to read, and tested out his math skills.
-I knew he could add and subract, but came to the unfortunate realization HE CAN DO MULTIPLICATION!!

MULTIPLICATION

He doesn't even use his fingers. I took the boys for a walk, and ender was on his scooter. I asked, "If I gaveyou 2 oranges 4 times, how many do you have?"

Without any hesitation, he said, "8. duh."

Crap.

Double crap.

I am not ready for him to be smarter than I am.

Other than that, I have been doing lots and lots of cleaning, no job searching, and some garden work.

OH! That reminds me: the company I just left called and asked AGAIN if I would come work for them, and screw my employer out of their finder's fee. I said no--but I am going in there Monday and Friday of next week to "help out"

Hey Dacs! I've been practicing my guitar chords! AND I got a cello gig in church during Lent. I knew you'd be proud [sniff sniff].

He's already got that one mastered.

No, no, no.... See, on some forums, some how you can put multiple quotes in ONE post. Not exactly sure how that works, I'm not that smart.

So I've progressed to sitting outside, watching the kids chase the chickens who despite the fact it's rapidly getting colder and threatening to rain do not want to be in their coop. My feet are propped up on the FOSTER dog. He's the right size for a foot rest.

I'd like to point out that the guineas, for as dumb as they may be some days, happily ran back to their inside DRY coop for millet. The peafowl just followed the guineas. The chickens however are NOT wanting to be inside. I'll go help the kids in a bit, I think everyone is having more fun than anything else right now. The Cochins already went to bed, so it's just the big ones.

I can do that but for me I have to have two tabs open, go back and forth between the tabs, copy and paste, and hand enter all the [ ] / quote, etc.
