The reason I'm asking about the statistics course is that it's a make-or-break thing for the possible career that has been offered to me and might come true in about 2 years (licensed real estate appraiser). In order to even qualify to take the courses & test, I just need that one particular college class. (I got the other college credits necessary in community college a lifetime ago.)

I got a statistics textbook from the library and can't even grasp the first chapter. I looked further along in the book and the mathematical equations looked as familiar as Hebrew. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Should I really just be a bag lady?

you could poll off bag lady, but you should try to pass statistics first. Let bag lady be plan b. Oh and I suck at math. FLunked college algebra 3xs. I haven't even finished my degree cause I'd need that and statistics. I doubt I'll ever graduate because of it. Oddly enough, I had As in both macro and micro econ. and there is algebraic equations in that.

No, you should call a local college and see if they have math whiz kids that tutor sweet little old ladies to keep them off the streets.

ooooh then you can write a book about your "may-September" romance and become a bazillionaire off movie royalties and stuff
