Off to do an hour's worth of real work (as opposed to all the stuff I've been doing while we chatted), before I go home and see what's lurking in the closet of a 14-year old girl

It's very full. I expect it will take the whole day to haul everything out and analyze it.

Bu-bye ya'll

My freshman year I somehow got stuck in the "Drug & Alcohol Free" dorm--which was TERRIBLE because it was the last place anyone wanted to be, and so the only people in there were the SLACKERS who waited until last minute to register. Biggest group of drunkards & smokers I have ever met. We weren't even allowed to have cigarettes in the building, so all the smokers had to hide their ciggies in the library bushes across the street.

We had fun, but I got stuck being "dorm mom" and doing all the DD-ing. I WAS prepared for the RA gig the next year, though.

I'll disagree with this one because:
1-Personal experience
2-Girls are witchy
3-It is hard to do study groups when boys are not allowed through the threshold into the study lounge or your room.

Compromise. Live int eh girls dorm right across the quad from the guys dorm and then spend ALLLLLL your time in the guys dorm. They have bigger tvs and better pool tables anyway. That's what I did

Uuu, bigger pool tables! I like pool.

That sounds fun, maybe I should do that.

Oh. I don't have a cell phone, so I don't know texting. My boss wrote a note to me the other day and I thought it said ".... by emailing". Turns out the "y" was actually the number "4" (b4) and I was supposed to know that. The man's a 55 year old lawyer and can't write a complete word?

actually in the times of a 2400 baud modem, texting lingo was origionally BBS lingo... 22 year old technology n speach... Modems were so slow back then you waited about a second for every character to display on a text chat online. So we shortened everything.

Depends on the place.
1- Based mine on my experience.
2- Of course, but you get that anywhere.
3- Boys were allowed in our rooms until 9pm, and could be in the downstairs lounges until 11pm lock-up.
4- There were a LOT of places on campus to meet & study, and I never wanted anyone in my room.

I lived in a girls-only dorm and it smelled so much better than the guy-only or co-ed dorms. Boys are icky.

We were allowed to have guys visit, even sleep over, but they needed to be escorted by a girl through the building. They couldn't use the girls restrooms, but there were guy restrooms in designated places. Guys were allowed in the lounges and lobby without escort, but most of the study groups happened in the hub (student center).

There wasn't a lot of partying done in the dorms because they were too closely monitored, most of the partying happened in frat houses and off-campus housing. My roommate was a big party girl, but I didn't mind because it kept her out of our room for hours at a time (often all night) and I got peace and quiet. The dorms were MUCH quieter than my house because I was one of 6 kids and it was always chaotic.
