They're also galled garden Spiders, but how boring is that? They get big enough that you can see their spinnerets covering the prey with silk, which is why we fed them so we could watch up close.

Bummer on the caterpillars. Depends on how close they were to 'the change'. Maybe you could lure them back with a strategically placed branch of food?

TG- I was exercising last night, and walked up to the Jack in the Box for a shake, and got total swamp @$$ because it was stinking hot outside!!
