Dr. Timothy Francis Leary (October 22, 1920 – May 31, 1996) was an American writer, psychologist, futurist, and advocate of psychedelic drug research. An icon of 1960s counterculture, Leary is most famous as a proponent of the therapeutic, spiritual and emotional benefits of LSD. He coined and popularized the catch phrase "Turn on, tune in, drop out".

She's young and you just confused her.

LOL Debi, how did you know I had to google Timothy Leary!?!

Because you are young and not a child of the 70's like me and Buffy were.

Me & Deb. Sisters in useless history.

Dude. I was a teenager in the 90s. Talk about useless history and NO social change.

In random other news: ALohachickens (Sommer) is at Breyerfest and another competition. She is WHOPING ACE! Check out this email I jsut got...

So, this year my paint work (between my stuff and stuff customers had brought) won about 50 Top 10's and about 12 National Champs and Reserve National Champs. What was unusual was doing so well with the miniature paint jobs, which are normally at a disadvantage because they're so small, it's harder to get all the detail. So the 9" tall models are competing against my 2" models for the same awards. About 3/4ths of these wins were with the "minis".

There are so many "winning horse" pictures, I could not possibly load them all.

This one she did for Breyerfest. It is called, "Captian Jackass"

She is an artist for Breyer. She sculpts new models, animals, and does custom paint jobs. The Susan G Komen Breyer horse was her idea/project.

Breyerfest is a bunch of nerdy women who take the Breyer BASE models, and paint them for competition. It is some BIG money for collectors.

Sommer actually takes them apart, remolds them, uses broken horses to create "new" models. I believe one of Sommer''s horses was on the cover of the Breyer magazine in June.

I would so love to go to a show like that!

Mee too! I know it is dorky, but I like the artistry and then the "business" side of it. Maybe next year I will convince Sommer to let me tag along. She says the ladies use the week as an excuse to dump the families, get drunk, and gossip.

It is NOT dorky! I think it's great "ladies time".
