Just like chickens! We once brought a friend's kitten into the house for a few nights to cat-sit her, and it took a long time for the boys to get used to her. We tried it again the next year when my friend went on vacation again, and as an adult cat, the female was heck on wheels mean about the whole thing. She attacked me, she was so upset that Buddy was just outside the door.

Are males generally easier than girls? Cats I mean...

No, the age made the difference. If the young cat grows up there, the older cats are always boss. The female came back as a Head of Household and refused to be demoted.

Perfect! You can always say that you'll post the pictures unless he lets you take in more "bait".

Nah. I already put my foot down about the future kitten.

Plus, I have the chickens to tend to.

Plus, I want a bee hive and an alpaca. I decided to give up the bunny for an alpaca.

I do think males are easier than females. My sister has 3 males that get along fine. I have 1 boy, who even lived at their home temporarily and while there were some power struggles, they did okay. We always had mixed sexes when I lived with my parents (all fixed, but both boys and girls). There were always fights between the boys and girls. The boys got along great with each other but were mean to the girls.

It depends on the individual cat of course. And especially bringing in a kitten it may not really matter. I do love boy cats though....they are much less beeeeyotchy.

Lori, you see what NellaB said about you???

It's okay. I don't take such things personally. I've certainly been called worse...

I think you mis-named the kitten. I think his name is "Trouble". He has that stinker look in his eye like he's measuring up just how much fun he can have.

I'd settle for being broke to see this face and hug this critter every day:
