Checked one thing off the list!
The orchestra music is copied so that DD and I can now write all over it! Our 2 big songs for fall are The Olympic Theme, and Gladiator's Song. Talk about some heavy percussion!!!! Then we sit for the next 2.5 songs LOL.

I'm so glad DD decided to be in orchestra with me again! She said it was because she loved being able to talk one-on-one to and from the practices.

DH, the cynic, thinks it also has to do with eating fast food once a week.
Last fall I used the fast food thing to bride DD into coming with me. We very rarely eat fast food, so it was a good lure. But now she gets fast food whenever the HS band travels.

She does get to play a wider variety of music in orchestra, and learn more percussion instruments since there's no competition.

Anyway, one thing off the list. Happy me...

Turns out he wanted a quickie QUOTE. Not sure if I am disappointed or relieved. Maybe I should ask for a picture so I can decide. Just kiiiiiiiiiiiidding.

Off to Margaritaville and $1 taco wednesday. Only had 4 margaritas on Monday. Can't beat drunk as a skunk for $8.70. I can have 2 margaritas and a taco for $5.44. Or better yet, 2 tacos and 4 margaritas for $10.88. Whooooo.

I'm a book addict, too. I used to read when I was stopped at long stoplights, but I quit doing that. Before I started working part-time, I used to read a book a day, but I've slowed down a lot. I'm looking forward to nursing a baby again - it's a great excuse to read for hours!

Were you like me? I thought I was being horribly naughty by bringing a flashlight to bed and reading under the covers instead of sleeping. Whoa, life of crime ahead for sure!

My boyfriend is a big reader. We had to go visit some big bookstore last time he was down here.......and he usually hangs up with me at night to read a bit. I had him send me one of his books so I could try it, but have never cracked the cover. I used to be a big reader but these days, I'm too tired. I hate to be in the middle of the book so unless I have time to read the entire thing, I tend to not even bother. Sigh.

Lori, I think it's so really really neat that you and your daughter can be in the same performing group. My mom used to drive me to all the outside-of-school groups I was in and there wasn't much in it for her, except lots of reading time I guess. Or maybe she spent the time praying that I would quit the cello...

Yup, that was me, too. Plus, I had a little bitty transister radio that I hid under my pillow so I could listen to some tunes while I read my book. I was walking a fine line at the tender age of 6.

My mom got a lot of craft projects done while she waited on me at various lessons. Count crosstitch, mostly. I really like it that DD and I can do orchestra together, and willingly this season! The catch is that I am not allowed to do too much with marching band. She doesn't want me being around her friends

Lori, I'm sure we were separated at birth! I used to have a cassette player under the covers too - I listened to .... (hard to admit) The Carpenters, ALL THE TIME.

I love being in the middle of book. I love series books best of all, because you can read one right after another and it takes weeks to end. Makes me feel all shivery just thinking about it!

I got the 3rd book in the Girl/Dragon series yesterday, but did not even unwrap it. I don't have enough done on my to-do list, and I know nothing will get done beyond the basics once I start this book. The 2nd one was so exciting I was literally on the edge of my seat. DH was laughing at me, and reminding me to keep breathing!

Buffy, that is too funny! I was thrilled to get to listen to ANY music that wasn't country. My parents were both from AZ, so I was (as the song said) country when country wasn't cool.
And the best part was it was my dad's radio and I knew where he put the batteries, so I could replace them as needed. And when it died, he'd bought a new radio since his was 'missing', so I took that one. I wonder if he ever figured out that I had them?

Belle, I used to read at stoplights, too. But the other drivers were NOT understanding if I missed the green because I was in a good part of the book. Now I only read in traffic jams and such.
