Me too Belle. Maybe they are predicting an earthquake, in their little humble animal way...

I just checked for them again, but no sign of them, yet. They always come when I call. I opened every door and closet in the house incase they got stuck somewhere - nothing.

I propped open the basement door incase they got outside. I tried calling for them, but every time I make a noise outside it sets off the neighbors 10 yappy Chichihuahuas and drowns out my feeble voice. I don't see them anywhere, but we've got a big yard.

Orch, part of your sig line reminds me of our friend Nells.

Re the cyclamens, Happy Plant has been with me for 2 years and has always been beautiful. That's why I had the bravery to get a second one. I was wrong.

Cyclamens are notorious for crown rot so I am parsimonious with water, but this new one just baffles me. I'm considering it a loss unless it surprises me while it's at this office - and it is in a cooler room, which I hope helps....

Have you rattled their treats container yet? Whenever I can't locate a cat, I rattle the treats can and yell "KIBBLE!". Lo and behold, miraculous cat appearance!

Um....my cats don't get treats.

I topped off their feed dishes and shook them, they usually come around to see what I'm doing. They always come running whenever I call "Here kitty, kitty," but not today. It's very weird that they're both missing.

In my defense, when the boys were babies, I was afraid they'd get out the door as I was leaving each day. So I corralled them in the kitchen for two treats each, then as they were munching I'd run out the door. Obviously, this ritual is not needed any more. But I'm a softie...

Yes. [joining you in worrying...]

Got any baskets of nice clean warm clothes or towels laying around anywhere? My cat likes to do this to me as well. by the time I am FREAKING OUT and marginally hysterical, he comes sauntering out of the bedroom yawning. He has a bad habit of liking to sleep under the covers in the bed. Crazy cat.

Bust out the can opener or crack open a can of tuna in front of a fan.

Norman is a bad tempered, cranky, slightly pudgy, obnoxious brat who would rather spend the day sleeping than anything else. He prefers to spend his waking hours (or minutes) being hateful and wreaking havoc on the more simple minded folks.

Yep. Like cat, like owner.

I don't leave laundry sitting in baskets for that very reason! Today I set out a laundry basket of fluffy blankets fresh from the dryer - usually irresistable to our girl cat. Still nothing.

I saw them both yesterday - they're usually obnoxious about begging for attention. DH went downstairs to get one of his work shirts from the laundry room this morning at 5am and they're usually all over him since they haven't seen him in a whole 8 hours, but he didn't see them, so he started looking for them. He didn't find them and got ready for work, but before he left, he woke me up to ask if anyone had left the door open downstairs or anything yesterday because the cats were missing. I asked Ella to get my water-hauling buckets from outside so I could drain the fishtank yesterday, but the screen doors close behind you so I can't see how they would've gotten out.

I looked for them before the kids left for school, but I didn't really start looking until Ella got back from preschool. It's just very weird they're both gone.
