OOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... okay.

DH was watching a cooking show last night where both the guy's forearms were covered in multi-colored tattoos. I still can't tell you what he said or what he was cooking...

Ah, the blessings of having previous children. Sure labor isn't fun, but once it's over, I feel perfectly fine - not even slightly sore in any way - so I can enjoy all the pie I want. Maybe some chocolate cake, too.

It's funny to see the nurses' reactions. "Mrs. Belle, you haven't any pain medication. Are you sure we can't get you anything?"
"No, I feel fine."
"Not even Ibuprofen?"
"No, I'm fine."

I am so envious. After a c-section, if you sneeze, you wish you were dead.

Although I have to admit that the liquid diet they keep you on the first day or two is a lot better than the real hospital food.

I had my appendix out in college - it was a month before I could stand up straight. I swore to my husband (who was my boyfriend at the time) that I was never having a c-section because abdominal surgery STINKS! I can't imagine having major abdominal surgery and then be expected to care for a newborn baby.

My 2nd baby was breech and they told me I'd have to have a c-section, unless I wanted to try an external version to flip the baby. Thank goodness it worked! I found out later that a version is pretty risky and only works about 50% of the time. I will do anything to avoid a c-section.

The food at our hospital is awesome! At least what they give women in the maternity ward is awesome. I've never stayed there as a non-maternity patient.

I text regularly. I was amazed at how many people my age use them.... and so I was dragged into the modern age.
I explained to a mom recently about how to make a heart on facebook. She didn't believe me. It's easy: <3 turns into a heart.

I began to appreciate texting instead of talking when DD was on a band trip. I couldn't hear her if she called, because the kids were so loud. But we had long text conversations. I have an 'old-fashioned' cell phone, so it takes me a while to type it all out. I'm considering getting a fancy phone when I upgrade in February. Might as well; I know I'm not going to be texting any LESS!

Orchy, I like your weird dream better than mine!

Buffy, any woman who travels alone should have a cell phone. And if you had the kind that takes pics (I don't) you'd always have a camera with you to ohotograph dead animals for dacs. I haven't had a lonadline in 7 years. I think my next phone will have a camera as well as texting...

Your hubby is very handsome!

If I was single and meeting guys; I wouldn't automatically write a guy off for having tatoos or piercings, as long as they were tastefully done, but DH doesn't have any and I don't want him to get any. My sons are absolutely not allowed to get tatoos or piercings while living under my roof. If they want to have it done they'll have to wait until they're 18+ then they can sign their own consent forms and there's nothing I can do about it, but absolutely no way I will consent to that.

The girls can have their ears pierced once.

Thanks, I think he's pretty cute too.

I don't think anyone under the age of 18 should get a tattoo. Period. What you think will look GREAT at 16, you will probably abhor at 32. DH got his tattoo when he was 30; it's a sun with a cross in the middle, with our sons' initials on the arms of the cross. It's very meaningful to him.

Piercings I don't mind so much, they'll grow over or fade away to a tiny hole eventually, but my boys are not allowed any tattoos until they're 18.

There's a boy in my youngest son's kindergarten class who has his ears pierced. I have to say that's the first time I've seen that on a boy that young.

I tried hard not to have c-sections both times...like three hours of pushing tried hard...just wasn't happening for me. And boy was I mad about it!

For all you know, he could be a horrible cook.

See? Tattoos as a distractionary tactic. I need to get some to distract DH as the "girls" succumb to gravity.

I always felt really bad for women who have those kind of stories. You went through the whole labor, hours of pushing and ended up with the surgical option anyway.

I'm very blessed, evicting the child is the shortest and easiest part.
