Wow, I've been reading some posts on here this morning and have come to the conclusion that some people REALLY overthink this chicken thing.

It took you this long to realize that.

I'll take some evil eggs too.

Heck, if the chickens were in the tropics they wouldn't be getting this daylight shortening and would keep laying.

My thoughts eggs-xactly.

Besides, what would they have to do all morning if they weren't fighting over the nest box?

I'd hate for the poor wittle smoochums to be bored.

It goes further, into the realm of dog and cat problems that I've never had and doubt I ever will have, but I don't want to offend anyone so I won't go there.

Suffice it to say that other than the physical labor involved, I find pets to be easy and rewarding and the annoyances to be minor and usually not worth mentioning except in good natured grousing. Take cat hair in the packaging tape, for instance.

Pet hair. Pet hair is evil and wrong. I have 4 dogs and a cat, all house pets. The poodle doesn't count. The other 4 shed their brains out daily. Mid winter? STILL SHEDDING. Of course they are. After all they must drop their fall coats, LOL.

I tend to micromanage and overthink the pet thing sometimes. Not with the chickens....but I do that with the other ones. I'm trying to let it go in my "old age". Dog has diarrhea? Give em Imodium! LOL.

Nells, Joe told me I can have all the cats I want as long as they're hairless.

You should see the pics of our long haired cat when we got him a lion cut last winter.

I think they're on my FB pics somewhere. Hilarious.

Obviously, just to spite him, you should go out and get 12 hairless cats.

I did consider it.

When I worked at the shelter, we once got in a litter of REX/Hairless crosses. Strange thing to get in no matter who or where you are....anywho, that cats all looked like they had stubble. It was HILARIOUS.

Speaking of working at the shelter, I found this old pic the other day and it cracked me up.

That is how I feel when I'm at work.

"Define brown. Your brown may be different than my brown."

"Why? Haven't you ever seen a brown chicken?"

"This is discrimination! I don't have brown chickens so I can't post in this thread! MODS!"

"Here's pics of all my chickens. I don't have any brown ones though."

"I have pics of brown eggs."

"Here's a moose I saw last summer. He's brown."

I am going to spam you all with cat pix. Because I think you would enjoy them.

I am the meanest cat mom ever. We adopted this stray tomcat....he was gross and mangy and had an absessed face......but he turned into a good cat eventually. A little fiesty, but nice.
