Office Work.......

hey now, someone might look at me and think I'm a "college chick" as well LOL. Now, let me say straight up I was not one of the college chicks who bought them. Lord knows, I need FEWER birds in my life.

Getting ready to head to a couple hour long sales meeting.......nothing like sitting in an office doodling for 2 hours while people drone on and on about things that don't have anything to do with you.....when you could be back at your desk getting actual work done. Yay.

No, he said these girls stated they were in college as they fought over who got to take which chicks home with them. I had 2 goldnecks, 2 lavenders, and 2 black mottled in there. I'm fairly certain the black mottleds were roosters, not sure about the other 4.
The poultry barn guy seemed kinda amused by the notion of college chicks buying chicks.

Yup.
Or they will find BYC and post esssentially the same thing.

At least, as d'Uccles, they will stay small, be full of personality, and be pretty when they grow up. I've seen bigger parrots!

I've seen louder parrots too!

So I built a nice bunny cage last weekend. Its really heavy, so I have it against the far living room wall, next to the hallway that leads to the extra bedroom, bathroom and laundry room. Apparently my cat is terrified of them and refuses to go down the hallway. Therefore, he pooped in my bedroom.

Stupid cat.

Last night, I thought he was angry and that is why he did it. Today I realized he is terrified. He apparently spent the night in the laundry room because he was too scared to go down the hall past their cage. He was meowing his little cold black heart out when I got up, for me to come rescue him. Once I was in the hallway "protecting him", he made a mad dash down the hall and to the other side of the house.

What a weirdo. He outweighs those bunnies by like 10-12lbs each.

I don't believe it for a minute! (Although I have been having to do the same with database updating - I'd really rather be on here though.)

I locked his butt in the laundry room today. The plan is to move those cages into the extra bedroom anyways, but they are too heavy to move by myself. It took hard work getting it where it is now!

I might have to put wheels on it...that would be neat.

Those lionheads are so darn cute........and friendly. Mr Monroe is way nicer than Ms Stella....anyone want a bunnY? ha.

I very seriously considered smuggling one home. And then I remembered the flock of SQ millies I may be getting soon. So, no bunny. I was very proud of my self control and discipline. Made me feel like such a 'growed up'!

I am in a similar position of real temptation. In the chiropractic office across the hall from this office, there are six kittens being fostered for two weeks. Guess where I'm spending my lunch break. (I can't adopt one, Buddy and Joe would kill me in my sleep.)

I had a houseguest for the last month and we've been really busy doing projects that needed doing. She helped me rearrange the chicken coop and rabbit cages outside to make room for the renovations my husband is going to do for me. He's building a wall along one side of my barn that will have a feeder that can hold an entire bag of chicken feed and he built me roll-out nest boxes! I bought everything I need to make an automatic watering system, so when we're done, the feed, water and eggs can be taken care of without walking in the pen, so after the baby is born I can ask my mom or my kids to go down and collect eggs and check food and water without having to enter the pens.

I've been setting up stuff for the baby, too. I've got 10 weeks to go! The crib is up and I bought a new carseat. I had meant to sell my stash of baby stuff in the attic, but from sheer laziness, I didn't get around to it. I came down with a whole tote of infant boy clothes and a whole tote of cloth diapers, so I'm so glad I didn't get rid of anything! I had to buy some new diaper covers, because my old ones got icky. I've been using my old diaper pail as a dog food container. I guess I'm going to have to find a new container for dog chow soon. Now, I have to get the baby clothes out the dryer and see if I have to buy any socks or onesies.
