My pecs hurt from practicing various kinds of pushups yesterday afternoon. But I'm betting I will be able to do at least ten next Tuesday.

Belle, I'm glad you are feeling better today. And we are always glad whenever you are on BYC!

School. I tossed them out the door and the school bus took them away for 7.5 hours.

You get Veteran's Day off? Going on a pony ride?

My Serama roo is a complete jerk to people, but he is absolutely wonderful to his hens. Even when he only had 2 girls in with him, they were never missing a single feather on their backs or their heads and he saves the best treats for his girls. So I keep him around even though he's a jerk. My friend Laura got a kick out of him because she's almost 6' tall and this 8" high rooster would challenge her every time.

Now I have him and his girls in a coop where I feed, water and collect eggs from the outside, so he doesn't get a chance to beat up on me anymore.

I'm almost done with that huge list of stuff I wanted to have done before the baby came, so I'm feeling more relaxed. I've been cleaning and organizing one room at a time and the last room I need to organize is my den. The girls' bedroom is an absolute disaster and the playroom downstairs needs some attention, but the kids are responsible for cleaning their own rooms, so I just fuss at them until it meets my standards.

Oh, the cleaning stage, must be near time for your baby?!!

This, too, shall pass.

I really am very blessed in many ways, so I don't have too much to complain about. I'm sorry to hear about your high-maintenance Roo and the little hen you lost. Definately get rid of him. Did you hear back from the pending buyer for the trio?

Yup, it all does pass. But the stress is hard work. Maybe only because I worry so much?

The buyer went with oiption B, which was the 2 surviving birds plus a younger goldneck that I had wanted to keep.
So I am both happy and sad

The eggs under one of the departing birds are not where they should be, since last night was 21 days.

The eggs are only 2/3 full.

So. Do I trigger the wrath of DH and plug in the bator? Or write them off because after such slow incubation they'll prolly have issues?

And on FB this morning I got scolded for auctioning millie eggs here rather than offering them on FB first. I did post that I had offered them, and pointed that out. And the scolding was meant in jest, and I'm flattered and all, but heh-LOOOOOO! My enabling can only go SO FAR!!!

Less than 3 weeks to go. I'm due the end of this month and I'm getting really big!

Good morning everyone!

to your nasty rooster. I did not know they could actually mate a hen to death, that is disgusting. My hens are missing a couple feathers off the sides of their backs but otherwise seem to be just fine...maybe I better watch a little more closely.

It's our youngest son's 6th birthday today! We're having a couple of his friends over after school to goof off and eat cake. He wanted a "Mystery Cake"...hmmmm I thought...I ended up getting a vanilla cake mix, mixing it up and putting it in six different bowls and adding a different color of food coloring to each bowl. Then we simultaneously poured three bowls in each cake pan to make two layers with three different colors each. It actually turned out really cool! I frosted it with cream cheese frosting and put a big blue and red question mark on top.

I just realized that means I've baked four times in the last two months.

And our oldest son's birthday is next month! Yikes.
