You mean the 20 minutes I spend driving to the next town down twice a week is dangerous?

Generally, I don't travel at all, and if I go any distance, it's with DH. Keep in mind that the part of the Cape I'm in is straight up and down, with the deserted towns all in a row from north to south. You can't go anywhere east or west or you drown.

Deserted towns. Drowning. Why, yes, Buffster, it sure does sound like you absolutely do not need a cell phone

You should at least get one of those prepaid ones to have with you in case of emergency. Don't make me come up there!

Gosh, y'all are like my DAD! He's been buggin me to get one for years. But who needs the gosh-darn expense when I'm out of work three afternoons a week and having to scrounge up housecleaning jobs? We've survived for centuries without cell phones. Why are they a necessity now? (Unless of course, you do travel distances reguarly or have children you need to keep track of and vice versa...)

Congrats Nella on fooling those poor innocent folks with your pseudocharm. If you can fake sincerity, you've got it made. Well done. We're so proud of our little girl [sniff sniff]

Buffy, love your new siggy. What a clever way to say we're all thoughtless!

I rarely keep my cell charged up, so no lectures from me, darling. I think the world was better off without cell phones.

I got my cell phone while in the midst of the ugliest of divorces and love it.
For all the hassles, it's been to the rescue enough times that I wouldn't give it up.

Buffy, I find it ironic that your dad is more tech savvy than you. You should listen to your daddy.

I have thought of another thing to be thankful for. I may not be able to do a push-up, but my size 8 jeans are more comfy, and I can pull my 10's up over a pair of sweatpants when I want to be warm. Despite chocolate and ambivalent exercise I must be doing something right.

My DD is off to NC for the weekend. I miss her already. She thinks I'm weird.

Yesterday she said she loved me because I told her she needed to exercise her stalker-abilities more.
I just want her to pay more attention to her surroundings. But it sounds much more attractive when you call it 'stalking abilities'.
I may be weird, but I'm not stupid...

I couldn't live without my cell phone. I break out into cold sweats if mine is more than 10 feet away at any time. Oh, the horror.

I also once had a $40 texting bill. Don't judge me, LOL.

I won't judge.

I am thinking about getting the whole text/download package and being able to access facebook from my phone. WTH, right?
I pay fees for downloading every time DD gets a text with photos, and we're about to reach the point where the data package is cheaper. I've asked her not to open the pics, but she forgets. Also, with the data package I could have oh soooooo many more ring tones....

It's nice when mom calls and I know it by the 'mom' ringtone. I can decide "Do I want to be on the phone for the next hour?" before I answer.
DH's ringtone is very strident, because he will not go away if he wants my attention.

DD's ringtone used to be Tom Petty's 'Rebel' but I need a new one for her. I'm thinking about getting that bouncy firefly song instead....

I like having a cell phone for the times the car's broken down and I need help or so the kids' school can get in touch with me if the kids need me. There's been many times I've been so glad to have it.

OOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... okay.

DH was watching a cooking show last night where both the guy's forearms were covered in multi-colored tattoos. I still can't tell you what he said or what he was cooking...

You must have been fascinated with all that artwork on his arms. Maybe tattoos aren't such a bad thing after all.

Our school now uses text messages to remind parents of school closings, report cards going out, and other major school-wide occurances. I love that!
Last winter I knew about snow closings before the news stations got word. That was really nice, to know what was going on right away without having a radio, tv, or computer handy!!!!
