Beaner, it was the best turkey I've ever had. Raised by the pasture-feed farmer we get our beef & pork from. Sooooo much flavor! I have another 6-8 pounds of meat in the fridge, and will be sick of turkey by the end of the week.

If I go to work, it won't be until about 10am. Hills + idiots = a real mess. I may skip work altogether. Haven't made up my mind yet.... DH drove in, so I'll call him later and see what he thinks.

Closed all the peeps into the coop last night. Turned the space heater on medium. It's not warm in there, but the water should thaw back out. I'll take warm water to the outside birds when it's daylight out.

Laree, I'm happy and sad for you. How long does this assignment last?

I'm staying home. Screw this mess. They want to shortchange us on our "christmas bonuses" even though the company had a fabulous year.....they can do their own customer service today.

Off to get release the hounds! I mean chickens. Also, that rescue emailed me back today....more in a bit.....

Good morning Nellie.

Good morning evreyone else when you get here.

Put spiced cider in the garage last night so it wouldn't take up room in the fridge. It turned to slush.

I am working from home! Yay me. Or not. Either way, if I work from home, I don't have to use PTO time....so yay for that? They offered to come pick me up, but I don't want to leave!

I have a project I need to work on and finish this week. Should change computers and get on the work one. But that would mean back and forth between computers to see you folks.

I think this project lasts 2 months, but the interim CFO needs to hire 6ish people, eventually. If I can last that long

Yay for working from home! Yay for projects AND screwing around.

Laree, I say yay for you but crap for us. I really enjoyed having you here on the OW thread frequently. So...uh...

It was -17º F at my house this morning. Park Rapids (where our shop is) had -22º. I give my old horse a full bucket of warm water in case he wants it while he eats his feed; it had a skim of ice on it in 20 minutes this morning. We obviously win at winter, to steal a Nellaism.

In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm channeling Nells this morning, as I just want to kill everyone and go drown myself in a hot buttered rum.

To steal back my Nellaism, my dogs win at winter.

Look how happy they are.

So, I got an email back from the rescue....they basically said that they adopted the dog out to a local person this weekend. Alrighty then. The email was a little weird.....they were making excuses on why this local home was better, yadda yadda yadda. Whatever floats their boat. So she is in a new home, not mine.....which is the important thing.
