I'm aliiiiiiiiiive! I decided to go get some coffee from weigels at lunch. And then the skies opened up and I nearly floated away.....hail, lightning, thunder, sideways torrential downpour. I drove under the gas pu/p thingy at weigels and hid there along with the other dozen smart people for about ten minutes. Then, after it showed no signs of letting up and streets were starting to flood, I drove back out into it and went back to the work parking lot. Roads were already flooding and the spray from me driving was taller than my car. But I made it back and inside the building,

It was slightly reminescent of what I would expect to happen if I had godlike powers and was angry. For a minute there I thought the pockyclips were upon me!

Whew, glad to hear it, Beaner. Bet that adventure woke you up better than a nap.

And will wear you out once the adrenaline wears off.....


DD is home alone, under a tornado WARNING until 2pm

Chelle, I hate that detached aircell thing. I also hate how many start, and then fail because of shipping trauma they just couldn't overcome.
I got 12 eggs from MO, had 11 start, 9 make it through the 2nd week, 6 make it to lockdown and only 4 that hatched. Lost one that was too small from the beginning within a week, and then lost another chick at 4 weeks. She just faded away and was gone last Friday

I swore I wouldn't get any more shipped eggs. I fail at swearing. The silkie eggs are on the dining room table, waiting to be unboxed.


Orchy, be careful Sweetie. I excelled at falling on stairs, and am uber-cautious now that I'm feeling like an impending old lady.
Esmerelda reminds me of emeralds, which this egg really looks like. It's not as dark as Oscar's egg. Yes, I know I should take pics....
