Yeah Lori, what's $75 worth of gas to drive to save the tiny little helpless lonely abandoned chickies?

Oh, since people here don't know this story.

Those sniffles and tears are how we wound up with the loony birds, the guineas.

Those poor homeless guineas. They sat at the shelter for 4 months and didn't have proper winter housing. Poor homeless guineas.....

Not sure how 3 males wound up turning into 30 standards and 7 jumbos.....

Okay, if that's your story and you're gonna stick with it...

Yup. And then he's gonna stick each chicken, hard enough to draw blood.

Besides, DH was on fb so I know he saw my emergency MPC chick post. And I'm sure he'd never buy it if I said I had to 'run a few errands after work'.
Also, I'm saving my brownie points to use for his next emu-ba discovery

You have a still in your desk? You lucky duck. We have to wait to leave the office in order to have moonshine!

Well, alcohol works a bit better for an anxiety fit than the Ativan. But I can't have either right now. And alcohol at work, yeah, phooey, that wouldn't fly.

Not sure the guineas could pass kindergarten math, never mind algebra.

They don't have to understand it, they're just subject to it. Like bunnies. They don't understand multiplication, they just do it.

gxg= 4gx4g to the nth power means you get a crapload of guineas....

I need help finding a place to get married. Tom's only concern/request is that his family can be there. Little history, he lost his Dad, his mother-in-law, his wife and his mother all in less than 5 years. To say his remaing family is important to him is an understatement Now I comletely understand that he wants his family there but they all live outside Alaska and some can't afford to fly up here. If we have the wedding here we will have to pay for the place and the food PLUS I will have to plan & organize it all and we will likely have to house and feed the family members who do come up. If we have it in the lower 48, he has a timeshare and a boatload of points which means he can cover the room costs for us and his family members that would need help just by using points. Everyone would be able to drive there (except us and my mom) and I could have someone "there" do the organizing so all I'd have to do is show up. I think I can actually do it that way for roughly the same $$ as I would spend having it at home. His family would be there but not our friends We would still have a big reception at home for all our local friends and hopefully some of our lower 48 friends would make itto the wedding too.

Ok, now that I said all that... the family lives in Michigan, Indiana & Tennessee with a couple in Washington State. The timesahre locations are here: https://www.worldmarktheclub.com/resorts/ I was thinking New Orleans because that is where we went on our first vacation when we got engaged, But Florida had Disney and NASA, etc. but California has Disney, Legoland, San Diego Zoo... My thought was, if we go out there somewhere it would be a family vacation that just happened to include a wedding. We could have a reception there and then one when we get back. And the kids would be with us so I'd like to do some "vacationing" with them so I'm considering what other atractions/activities are nearby, we can honeymoon later without them.

For now, I'm taking all opinions for consideration.

I vot for Wyndham Smoky Mountains.

Kids (above the age of 12) can roam Dollywood or the water park unattended and be safe. Everyone can take hikes in the mountains. LOTS of chapels for a wedding. The happy couple could rent a cabin just far enough away from the Wyndham to have some quiet time and a hottub.
Pigeon Forge has a large skating rink, bumper cars & race tracks, lots of great places to eat.
Gatlinburg has all kinds of stuff, too. Museums and tourist traps alike, with craftsmen and artists snuck in here and there.

And if anyone needs a chicken fix, than can come snuzzle d'Uccles.

Yeah, but I so thought we were safe with 3 MALES. You know, can't breed, all that jazz.

But ok, fine, 2 more boys can come home also. Still, 5 male guineas aren't THAT bad.

Yeah, right. Never mind

As for wedding location - CA and FL are going to be hideously expensive, so take that into consideration.
